Florida Armed Security License “G” Course Range Qualification

Armed security officers and private investigators who possess a Class G license can only carry the firearm(s) they qualified with during range day of the G course and may only carry two firearms upon their person while on duty.

Example- A security officer or investigator that only qualified with a revolver cannot carry a semi-automatic or vice versa while on duty.

We offer students the ability to qualify with both weapons systems. Students must qualify with one weapon system during initial firearms range training and then qualify with the other weapon system if desired.

Students that pass the final exam and range qualification in the 80th percentile will be given a certificate of completion to provide to the state when they apply for the Class “G” Statewide Firearms license.  They will also receive a certificate of completion for the concealed weapon or firearm license (CCW Permit).
