PERSONAL SAFETY TRAINING

Civilian Training

Concealed Carry Certification (CCW)/Close Quarter Handgun Level I

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Florida CCW course completion certificate. This familiarization course consists of classroom and live fire range time. Topics covered include:

  • Basic firearm safety
  • ​Concealed carry methods and considerations
  • Situational awareness
  • Human, physiological response to stress
  • Florida concealed carry law
  • Response to law enforcement
  • Personal insurance
  • Fundamentals of marksmanship
  • Methods of effective shot delivery
  • Loading and malfunction drills
  • Weapons presentation drills

Close Quarter Handgun Level II

This course is an introduction to basic firearms Close Quarter Combat (CQC) techniques, and is a good basic course against sudden, violent and often surprise attacks. On this course you will learn basic CQC techniques using handguns.

You must have attended and successfully completed a basic firearms course including shooting proficiency before attempting this course.

The topics covered include:

  • Pre-violence indicators
  • Basic CQC
  • Stance and movement
  • Introduction to close quarter handgun work
  • Basic draw and weapon handling at close range
  • Shooting
  • Reloading
  • Clearance / stoppage drills
  • Tactical reloads
  • Combat reloads
  • Methods of effective shot delivery
  • Stress firing
  • Developing speed, coordination, stamina, strength, and flexibility
  • Mindset
  • Legal aspects
  • Equipment

Close Quarter Handgun Level III

This course is a continuation of the basic firearms Close Quarter Combat (CQC) techniques, and is a good course against sudden, violent and often surprise attacks. On this CQC course you will learn advanced techniques using handguns and simple hand-to-hand techniques.

You must have attended and successfully completed our Close Quarter Handgun Level I firearms course before attending this course.

The topics covered include:

  • Basic strikes
  • Basic kicks
  • Basic blocks and parries
  • Basic disarmament techniques
  • Stance and movement
  • Weapon retention
  • One handed shooting, reloading, clearance / stoppage drills
  • Tactical reloads
  • Multiple target engagements
  • Shooting in densely populated areas
  • Using cover while shooting left, right, above, below
  • Physical and mental conditioning
  • High emotional and mental pressure and tension exercises
  • Tactical thinking, weapons retention and disarmament
  • Flashlight techniques
  • Flashlight as a defensive tool
  • Flashlight as an aid in shooting
  • Shooting under low light conditions

Aerosol Subject Restraing (Pepper Spray)

This course and will cover the following subjects:

  • Spraying techniques
  • Limitations of defensive sprays
  • Tactical movement while deploying the spray
  • Surviving a pepper spray or mace attack
  • Disengaging from the attacker
  • Follow through
